An appeal has been launched by the Trust’s primary care practices for donations to help spread goodwill this Christmas and support people experiencing homelessness in East London.
ELFT’s Newham Transitional Practice, Greenhouse and Health E1 practices provide year-round support for clients experiencing homelessness. They are holding events to ensure the people they support experience the same kindness this festive season that many take for granted.
The practice teams are appealing for warm winter coats, clothing, tinned or non-perishable food, toiletries and sleeping bags which they can then pass on to clients who could be spending Christmas sleeping on the streets.
Their seasonal events start on December 3.
“Community partners, businesses and individuals have always been incredibly supportive and we hope they can help us once again in spreading some seasonal cheer for some of the most vulnerable people in Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets,” said Marina Muirhead, ELFT Director for Primary Care.
