A prestigious Cavell Star Award has been presented to the three team leads from the Primary Care at Home (PCaH) team, Melanie Harris, Karen Rudge and Mandy Reilly.
Primary Care at Home manager, Sarah Denmead nominated her team for everything they have done in leading their teams through the most challenging of times over the last 18 months.
“You have to be so diverse in the Team Lead role and be everything to everyone,” she said.
“I don’t think many can appreciate the challenges trying to be someones role model, manager and leader as well as try and be empathetic, their shoulder to cry on and sometimes just a friend.”
The PCaH service help people with long-term conditions and include district nurses, community matrons, occupational therapists and more to provide co-ordinated care.
The Cavell Star Awards are a national awards programme by the Cavell Nurses’ Trust to celebrate the exceptional work nurses, midwives, nursing associates and health care assistants (HCAs) do every day in the UK.
