Walk-in support is now available at mental health crisis cafes in Bedford and Luton.
Mind BLMK provides the crisis cafés for the Trust in Bedfordshire and Luton, offering free help and support for anyone aged 18 or older experiencing a mental health crisis.
Support was provided by telephone over the last year to help keep clients and Mind BLMK staff safe and follow COVID restrictions, but face-to-face support has been slowly phased back.
As of July 19, 2021, visitors can now walk in at any time between 5-11pm any night of the week, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
The cafes are run by friendly team leaders, recovery workers, peer support workers (PSWs) and volunteers trained to offer coping mechanisms and management techniques to help people work through their crisis.
The teams are also to refer and direct people to further services if required.
