An independent mediation and disagreement resolution service which is free of charge for parents/carers and young people. The service helps to settle disagreements between parents or young people and local authorities and schools or other education providers. LUC Hidden SEND is a new initiative by Let Us Communicate. They aim to empower parents and carers with knowledge of their rights when raising a child with hidden disabilities, resources and signposting. Autism
AAA offers a range of services based at the Terence Brown Arc in the Park, an inclusive resource, delivery and neighbourhood play hub for children and young people living in Canning Town. The services focus on and support children and young people most in need, including those with disabilities or additional needs, including after school clubs, holiday play, youth activities, youth clubs, disability specific activities, detached youth projects, information advice and support for vulnerable young people, mentoring and personal development programmes, doorstep inclusive sports clubs, and outward-bound activities and experiences.

EPEC is a parent lead parenting programme that aims to stregthen parent-child bonds and relationships. Parents learn a range of positive parenting skills. Parents can learn a range of positive parenting skills such as better understanding children's feelings, valuing effective parent-child communication, building better more resilient family relationships, being good enough, play and spending time with your children, understanding children's behaviour, positive discipline strategies, listening and communication, and coping with stress. There is also an ASD specific and baby oriented group.

The Language, Communication and Interaction Service (LCIS) is a multi-disciplinary team of specialist teachers, speech and language therapists and SEN Early Years and School- Age Practitioners. We are a specialist service that works with families; children’s centres; other early years settings; and schools to support and develop provision for children and young people aged 0-16 years with social communication difficulties, autism and for some with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and speech sound disorder.

Referral Details: For young people with autism or Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)/Speech Sound Disorder (including their schools and families). It is free to Newham organisations and residents.
For children of nursery age, a referral must be made via the Early Notification Panel. Early Years settings and any other agencies involved with the child can refer through this panel with parental consent.
For children aged 5-16, schools or any other agency involved can refer with parental consent using the LCIS referral form.
Parents can request that any of the above make a referral if appropriate.
Once a referral has been accepted, the level of and type of support offered by our service will vary depending on a range of factors.

Learning Difficulties
The Child Development Centre is based at the West Ham Lane Health Centre. It is for the multidisciplinary assessment of children with complex development difficulties.
The professionals involved in these assessments include, Community Paediatricians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapists. We also work with professionals from the Education department within some assessment pathways.
The Enuresis clinic is also held within the Child Development Service. The clinic is a specialist service, provided as doctor and nurse led sessions, that offers medical intervention, support and advice to children and young people aged 5 to 18 years with a night time wetting problem. The support and treatment offered by the service helps to improve social inclusion for the children and young people, and their families.
