The New MAC (Newham's Multi Agency Collective) is a collaborative project between CAMHS, HeadStart, LBN, Public Health, and VCFS organisations.
It consists of a wide range of organisations, all with the aim to provide earlier support and interventions to young people referred to Newham CAMHS through one of the following:

Open Access boxing, martial arts and fitness, mentoring, as well as employability and education support. There are specific programmes for 7 - 14 year olds and young women. Informed by a public health approach, their programmes are designed to meet the needs of all young people in the community, as well as focusing on those that need specific and tailored support.

Online, free and anonymous mental health support. Young People can access counselling through live 1-1 messaging chats, or through sending a message into the teams inbox. Our counsellors and EWPs are online 365 days a year. There are other wellbeing tools on the site such as a forum boards, mood journals, articles and mini activities.

Free, weekly online group teaching non-contact boxing and mindfulness. Mindfulness and non-contact boxing improves the wellbeing of young people, helping them to feel more calm and in control. They also work with professional sports men and women, including TeamGB Olympic athletes and premiership rugby and football teams.

The project aims to empower South Asian girls in participating schools and educational institutions by equipping them with essential social and cognitive skills, promoting mental wellness, and fostering a positive school ethos. The project aims to work with 75 girls aged 12 to 18 from BAME communities and disadvantaged backgrounds in Newham, London, delivered over 12 weeks in 5 schools with a cohort of 15 girls per school, totalling 75 girls trained. Over a 12 week period, the girls will participate in sessions using various methods such as storytelling, role play, art therapy, one-to-one peer support, group discussions, activities, videos, and worksheets.
