Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) provides specialist mental health and learning disability services to people in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Low Secure Forensic Service in York which serve the regional population. Our specialist services accept national referrals.

Service users are at the heart of our organisation. We constantly strive to provide the best possible care and support, working closely with related organisations to provide effective, accessible and modern mental health and learning disability services. Working in partnership with our local communities, our core purpose is to improve the mental health and well-being of the people who use our services.

Research Team

Rebecca Lasseko (Principal Investigator)

Rebecca Lasseko has worked as a doctor for 23 years initially in Palliative Care settings in East Africa where she has cultivated her love for research and has been working in Psychiatry since 2007.

She is currently a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist at Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust; where she works as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Lead for Complex Rehabilitation Services. However she has worked in various setting such inpatient acute psychiatric wards, community mental health teams and substance misuse teams. She has been involved in research for several years in different roles. Additionally she is a medical appraiser.

Her main interests are in Rehabilitation; especially Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Addiction Rehabilitation in Psychiatry.

Holly Taylor (Research Assistant)

Holly Taylor has worked for Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) for over 9 years in a variety of clinical and research roles. Holly is also completing her training towards an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Clinically, Holly has worked in peri-natal mental health and as an Assistant Psychologist as part of the Community Learning Disabilities Team.

Holly began her research career in 2014, as part of the Child Orientated Mental Health Intervention (COMIC) centre in York, working in research areas such as autism, deaf mental health and depression in young people. More recently, she has contributed to a variety of NIHR portfolio studies in mental health and dementia with a keen interest in the experiences of people who have a diagnosis of psychosis.
