We believe that mental health services should be tailored to the social and cultural context of the user. We are committed to mental health within the context of international human rights and social justice. We also believe in working and learning together as equal partners.

We are committed to improving better mental health in Uganda by building the capabilities, capacity, skills and leadership of mental health workers and other health staff through training and development. We work on increasing the involvement of users and carers in the development of mental health services. 

We are committed to improving better mental health in the UK by building the ideas and skills of East London staff through dialogue and relationships with Butabika Hospital and other Ugandan organisations and people. We are also committed to contribute to national debates about mental health in international development.
