Our Objectives and Annual Plans
Trust-wide annual plan 2022-2023
It is our vision to deliver the highest quality mental health and community care to our local communities. The Trust's values are at the heart of everything we do and underpin our vision.
Our Trust values:
- We care
- We respect
- We are inclusive
The immense challenges brought about by the pandemic, as well as the changing demographics of all our local populations, the continually evolving expectations of and needs of people in our local communities, and the significant implications of the Health & Care Bill required the Trust to update its strategy.
With this in mind, between June and August 2021, we undertook a ‘Big Conversation’ to engage a range of stakeholders, both within and outside the Trust, to help us understand what our priorities should be in a refreshed strategy through to 2026.
Strategic priorities for the trust 2022 – 26 include:
- Improved population health outcomes
- Improved experience of care
- Improved staff experience
- Improved value
The new strategy retains the mission “To improve quality of life for all” and four strategic outcomes (improve population health, experience of care, staff experience, and value – the triple aim) from our previous strategy.
The Big Conversation
During the Big Conversation, we had substantive feedback that these are considered important by our service users, staff, and partners, and they align with the triple aim.
The strategy specifically includes strategic objectives for tackling inequalities including:
- Champion social justice and to tackle racism and other forms of prejudice;
- Prioritise prevention and detection of illness in disadvantaged groups;
- To address inequalities in experience, access, and outcomes.
These strategic objectives will guide the Trust's focus and work over the next five years.
We will undertake an equalities impact assessment on the proposed Strategy as part of our next steps.
The Trust is proud to provide services to one of the most diverse populations in the country and to have the most diverse NHS workforce in England. Understanding and valuing diversity and tackling inequality underpins both our operational plan and our strategy.
