Once we receive a referral from your Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), our administrator will give you a call to arrange an assessment with one of our clinicians. We will then send you some questionnaires before your assessment. This can be by post, email, or text, whichever you prefer.
The assessment will take around 60 minutes and will involve a conversation to help us understand your experiences with cancer. We are here to listen and explore how this has impacted your thoughts, feelings, and daily life. Together, we will work to create a personalised treatment plan that feels right for you.
You are welcome to bring a partner or family member to your appointment if you feel that would offer you extra comfort and support.
What happens after your assessment?
After your assessment, we will work together to find the most supportive and suitable treatment plan for you. In some cases, this may include referring you to other services that can further assist in your care.
Our psychology appointments typically last around 50 minutes, however we are flexible if you need a shorter session due to treatment or how you are feeling that day. Sessions are offered weekly or fortnightly, to give you space to reflect and try any techniques your clinician may suggest, at a pace that feels right for you.
