On Thursday, 20th June, the Trust’s Clinical Lead for the Armed Forces Community (Jane Kelly) and Project Manager for People & Culture (Doris Mc Meel) attended a celebration ahead of Reserves Day and Armed Forces Day.
Hosted by the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association for Greater London, the City Briefing Dinner brought together defence representatives and stakeholders from across the City of London.
The event – which was held at the Guildhall Art Gallery in Moorgate – was aimed towards organisations who are members of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, and have already shown commitments towards the wider Armed Forces community.
The Scheme is geared towards all employees, and encourages them to support defence and inspire others to do the same. It has three levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold – for those who pledge, demonstrate or advocate for the Armed Forces.
In attendance were various representatives from London’s Reserve Forces, alongside numerous military VIPs.
Speaking about the event, Jane Kelly said: “It is an honour to be invited to celebrate the great work we as a Trust do to support the Armed Forces. We are actively raising awareness across the organisation about our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and our pursuit of health equity. This includes improvements to the care and treatment service users from the Armed Forces receive and employment opportunities.”
