On Friday 12th August, the Better Days for BLMK campaigners set up shop at Youth Fest in Luton. On a sunny day in Wardown Park, they created a colourful and engaging space where children and young people could come and contribute their drawings and ideas for what 'better days' look like for them.
For some, a day at the beach and time with their pets would do, while others wished for equality and acceptance.
The Better Days for BLMK campaign is designed to promote positive mental well-being amongst children and young people (up to the age of 25) by offering opportunities for creative expression and exploring different forms of art therapies, like drawing, collage and spoken word. The campaign will run for a full year.
Sassie and Jay, CAMHS Digital Leads (and award-winning members of People Participation!) worked together with the local CAMHS, Discovery College and partner organisations to launch the campaign this summer.
