Building upon the success of previous years, this event once again recognised the remarkable contributions of service users and carers in elevating healthcare services and fostering a culture of shared improvement.
A Celebration of Collective Effort
Paul extended his thanks to the individuals who ‘utilise their lived experience, knowledge, suggestions, and even criticisms, to aid the Trust in delivering its vital services to the community.’
In a single sentence, Paul encapsulated the essence of what makes ELFT's approach to mental health services remarkable – the unwavering commitment of its staff, service users and carers to collaborate.
His opening address resonated deeply, as he emphasised the importance of people participation in fostering an environment of mutual support and shared responsibility within ELFT. He underscored that these awards were more than just tokens of appreciation; they symbolised the collective efforts of individuals working together to create positive change.
Recognising Excellence: The Project of the Year Award
Lorraine Sunduza, Chief Nurse and Deputy CEO, proudly presented the Project of the Year award, shining a spotlight on a project that epitomised ELFT's ethos of community and care. The winner of this esteemed award was the 'Cost of Living' project, spearheaded by Susan.
In her poignant address, Lorraine emphasised that the 'Cost of Living' project embodies a narrative that the organisation wishes it didn't have to tell. The project's relevance was undeniable, addressing the rising costs of essentials such as energy bills and food.
Through 'Cost of Living,' the project lead provided invaluable support, offering up-to-date information and insights to help individuals navigate the financial challenges posed by these escalating costs. The project's accessible approach ensured that this information reached those who needed it most, touching the lives of service users, caregivers, and staff members.
Championing Youth: Young Person of the Year Award
In a testament to the youthful spirit of engagement, the Young Person of the Year Award spotlighted a trailblazer who embodies the essence of participation and innovation. This year's recipient, Jessica, personified active involvement and collaboration within ELFT. Jessica has been an unwavering presence, participating in a multitude of projects aimed at enhancing Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
A Night to Remember, A Journey to Inspire
"This evening, we celebrate not just accomplishments, but the spirit that propels us forward. Our collective efforts have the power to reshape healthcare and communities – this is a reminder of the potential we hold." said Director of People Participation, Paul Binfield.
The event was a testament to ELFT's commitment to collaboration and unity, and how these values create ripples of positive transformation.
