Since its inception, the NHS has welcomed the skills of overseas colleagues who alongside locally trained colleagues, were the foundation of the NHS establishing their home and their careers here in the UK.
Recruitment from outside of the UK continues to feature as an important part of the workforce supply strategy of NHS organisations. Providing services to diverse communities as we do, it is important to have that diversity reflected in our staff. We celebrate and value the knowledge and skills as well as the broad range of insights and perspectives that our overseas recruits bring to the benefit of patients, service users and carers so that we can better understand their needs.
The knowledge and skills of all staff are valued and appreciated. The camaraderie and teamwork as you go around services in ELFT is heartwarming. It is a big decision to uproot yourself and build a life in a new country. So it is important that the ELFT family is there for overseas colleagues.
Although today is a special day, we want all our overseas staff to know that we appreciate you each and every day.
So thank you for choosing ELFT and thank you for all that you do for the NHS.
