Kiki Linfoot, described as a caring person and team member by colleagues, collected six large bags of coats from both MHCOP CMHT and the Dementia service. There is a group located close to the MHCOP CMHT City and Hackney offices who drive the donations to Calais, Kiki got in touch with them to see how she could help.
“Winter is an incredibly difficult time for the refugees in Calais, as there are often less volunteers, donations and support at refugee centres. Many people who arrive there have had their belongings taken either at Calais or during their difficult journey getting there. A winter coat is an important piece of protection against the harsh conditions in Calais.”
People around the office were very enthusiastic about donating and were excited to bring in bundles of coats. Kiki shared a photo of her many bags around the office and it really lifted people’s spirits.
Ellen Clancy, Kiki’s colleague said, “Kiki is an action orientated person, and likes to tackle things head on. We are very lucky to have her in our team!”
