Compass, ELFT’s not for profit social enterprise, has been Highly Commended in the Best Not for Profit Working in Partnership with the NHS category of the prestigious national awards.
Compass works to bridge the gap between VCSEs and healthcare services by building capacity in the sector, improving the ability of VCSEs to engage with the Trust, and facilitating partnership working.
Between July 2021 and March 2023 Compass ran 20 procurement programmes on behalf of ELFT, with more than £9.5m funding awarded for 205 VCSE contracts and projects across City & Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Luton, Central Bedfordshire and Bedford.
Funding and grants have been awarded to groups helping Asian elders living with dementia through to a boxing coaching wellbeing programme for children.
Compass has also fostered VCSE partnerships with the Trust, including developing a simple application process for funding from grassroots organisations.
“The tireless work of Compass Wellbeing in supporting the VCSE sector - groups and organisations representing the heart of the communities we serve – is incredible,” said Dr Mohit Venkataram, ELFT Director of Commercial Development.
“Every member of the Compass team should take huge pride in this recognition by HSJ Partnership Awards judges."
The HSJ Partnership Awards 2023 were held at Evolution London on March 23.
Compass was also named winner of the Innovation in Supporting NHS Trusts category at the Forward Healthcare Awards 2022.
