Interim Chief Executive Lorraine Sunduza and Chair Eileen Taylor attended a Covid plaque unveiling at Wolfson House in Hackney, to pay tribute to staff and service users during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Lawford Clough, who is the Interim Service Director for Forensic Services, welcomed staff to the reception area at the site, and gave a few words about the difficulties facing Wolfson House specifically throughout the various restrictions in place.
The baton was passed over to staff to pay their own personal tributes, and various staff and service users who became ill and/or sadly passed away were named. Staff vowed to never forget this dark time in history – which is still being felt to this day.
Lorraine expressed her gratitude towards the sacrifices made by staff, and the difficult decisions made on a day-to-day basis. This sentiment was echoed by Eileen, who mentioned how far our understanding of Covid and infectious diseases have come in a short space of time.
The ceremony was capped off by the ribbon being cut by Eileen, as had been done at previous plaque unveilings at other sites.
