A long-serving member of the Trust family has taken to the airwaves to educate Luton’s BAME communities about the importance of the COVID vaccine in keeping them and their loved ones safe.
Zaz Wahid, Operational Manager for the Trust’s Psychiatric Liaison Service in Luton, was a guest on the health and fitness show for the town’s community radio station Inspire FM.
Zaz joined Inspire FM host Fahad Matin, who is also the Luton & Dunstable University Hospital service manager and Dr Amir Rehayi, who is also based at the hospital.
The panel discussed the COVID pandemic, answered listeners’ questions and talked about the protection offered through the vaccination programme.
Questions included ‘is the vaccine safe?’ and ‘do you see people with side effects of the vaccine?’
Zaz, who is passionate about supporting Luton’s South Asian community, was pleased at the opportunity to discuss COVID vaccination on a station dedicated to supporting the town’s BAME communities.
“COVID has had a huge impact on BAME communities and I was delighted at the opportunity to discuss vaccinations, address many preconceptions and, hopefully, encourage more people to get the vaccine and booster to help them stay safe and protect their loved ones,” he said.
