The Trust was delighted to welcome East London residents – along with everybody involved with ELFT – to our celebration of the NHS’ 75th birthday, just one week after the success of the Great Bedfordshire NHS Show.
Held at Toynbee Hall in Tower Hamlets, attendees had the opportunity to speak with various services and partners of the Trust about the brilliant work they’ve been doing to support local residents in Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets. Stallholders included ELFT’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), ELFT Recruitment, Dementia UK, cost of living advisory services and many more.
There were even chances for attendees to grab themselves an NHS 75 tote bag, take photos with our NHS selfie frame underneath the balloon arch, and write messages of good faith in our large birthday card.
Midway through the event, Eileen Taylor, who is the Chair of ELFT, corralled attendees into the refreshments room. She gave a thoughtful speech to provide her thanks to the entire ELFT community for their hard work and dedication to high-quality care.
ELFT’s Membership Officer, Tina Bixby, organised the event. Commenting on the day, Tina said: “We would like to thank everybody from across East London for attending the community fayre.
“We thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting with residents, services and partners, and cannot wait to continue working with them in the future.”
Speaking about the importance of celebrating the NHS’ milestone, Tina added: “75 years of the NHS is a significant achievement, and the contribution of everybody involved in the service is something to cherish.
“Let’s continue to celebrate everything about the NHS, and here’s to the next 75 years!”
