ELFT Board members are hosting an online virtual zoom event organised by NHS Providers on 20 July.
‘Trust-wide Improvement: A Deep Dive', is a live round table discussion and the second in part of a series, each hosted by a different NHS trust leadership team.
ELFT CEO Paul Calaminus, Non-Executive Director and Acting Chair Eileen Taylor, Executive Director for Integrated Care Richard Fradgley and Trust Chief Quality Officer Dr Amar Shah are all taking part on 20 July.
Jenny Reindrop, NHS Providers Interim Director of Programmes will chair the event. It forms part of the NHS Providers nationwide improvement programme of board support.
The 'deep dive' format is a unique opportunity to bring together national health leaders to examine some of the key challenges and opportunities they face today.
Participants explore the role improvement is playing in meeting the challenges faced by health leaders today, consider what improvement looks like as the sector moved into recovery beyond the pandemic, and how improvement is being driven across organisational boundaries.
Subjects specific to ELFT directors in the hour-long questions and answer session are likely to focus upon their individual roles in driving the trust’s approach to improvement, and how the trust’s approach to quality improvement impacts on the wider health system locally.
ELFT has been rated Outstanding by the CQC three times in a row, most recently in 2021.
As such, the ELFT directors' insights into all these issues are likely to be eagerly sought by the NHS Provider audience.
Commenting on being invited to host the event, ELFT Acting Chair Eileen Taylor said:
“ELFT’s latest five-year strategy puts tackling health inequalities, improving population health and the need for a thriving workforce at the centre of our vision for the future of the Trust.
“All this alongside a determination to ensure that services are planned, managed and delivered in partnership with service users.
"From the very beginning, co-production has been at the heart of how ELFT operates. For service users, it means they are seen and heard as equals by our clinicians, which increases their self-confidence and resilience, and strengthens our communities in many ways.
“This forum is an opportunity to look at these issues in-depth and to continue widening the conversation.”
ELFT’s Chief Quality Officer, Dr Amar Shah said:
“I commend NHS Providers for facilitating this deep dive peer learning session.
“It is a great opportunity to look at what is needed to sustain a trust wide approach to improvement over the longer term.
“I’m privileged to work alongside colleagues at all levels within ELFT who share this commitment.”
ELFT CEO Paul Calaminus said:
“I’m delighted and very grateful to NHS Providers for setting up this online event.
“The future challenges facing health providers are unique to every locality but there are always lessons that can be broadened out to colleagues elsewhere.
“I very much hope ELFT’s ‘deep dive’ on the day can help stimulate thought and discussion amongst fellow NHS leaders."
