The title is not an award for past service but indicates a commitment to high standards of patient care, learning and leadership.
Nurses who hold the title benefit from developmental workshops, bursaries, networking opportunities, and a shared professional identity.
Carole Taylor, Trustwide Tissue Viability Lead Nurse, is now a Queen’s Nurse. Carole works very closely with all nurses to ensure the pressure areas are monitored and maintained to avoid pressure ulcers; she is based at The Centre Manor Park.
Carole’s work spans across all disciplines in ELFT across London and Bedfordshire. She provides Clinical leadership to the Tissue viability team in Bedfordshire, and manages the service in London.
Carole worked her way up to where she is now able to establish and maintain clinical excellence in practice around skin care, tissue viability and pressure area management.
She enjoys quality improvement work and the benefits the service users get from it.
Carole said: "I am honored to be recognised and given the title Queen’s Nurse. This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of my team, colleagues, peers, and the community we provide care for. Without them all I would be unable to continually strive to improve the standards of care delivered to my patients.
“Every day I am grateful to work with a committed team and for the opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of our Service users. I remain committed to providing the best possible care I can."
