Consultant Psychiatrists Dr Tennyson Lee and Professor Kamaldeep Bhui CBE will speak at a mental health seminar hosted by the CHiMES Collaborative and the World Psychiatric Association Collaborating Centres.
Dr Lee is the Clinical Lead at ELFT’s DeanCross Personality Disorder Service. The team works with adults in Tower Hamlets whose personalities can create difficulties for themselves or others. He is also a member of the British Psychoanalytical Society and the Co-Director of the Centre for Understanding of Personality, a research unit linked to Oxford University.
Alongside Professor Bhui’s role as an Honorary Consultant at the Trust, he is also a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. He leads the CHiMES Collaborative, bringing together creative arts, social science, psychiatric and lived experience perspectives in mental health care and research, and is Director of the UK World Psychiatric Association Collaborating Centre.
The CHiMES Collaborative is a research group based in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. It conducts research on the cultural, social and geopolitical influences on mental health and health inequalities.
The World Psychiatric Association is a global association that represents psychiatric societies in 120 countries. It brings together more than 250,000 psychiatrists, and has developed ethical guidelines for psychiatric practice.
This webinar will explore Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), a mental health condition that can cause unstable moods, impulsive behaviours and problems with relationships. It will take a look at Transference Focussed Psychotherapy, a treatment aimed at helping people with their personality and resolving issues by improving relationships with others.
