The Informatics team found a novel way to raise money for a good cause AND communicate with one another in a more professional and respectful way! The team introduced a 'Consequences Box' with fines for colleagues who were late to meetings, late arriving at work, or ... used expletives! They raised £300 but this was not solely down to poor team etiquette - the whole Digital team at The Green made donations too. Their donations went to Richard House Children’s Hospice.
The team visited the Children's Hospice in Newham on Thursday 21 December, spreading Christmas cheer with their boxes of presents for the children that they left beneath the main tree. The hospice was decorated with festive balloons and displays after the children had their Christmas party one day prior.
The Informatics team was also treated to a tour of the Richard House garden which included a touching memorial spot with stones engraved with individual names on them.
Richard House is a Children’s Hospice that supports more than 300 families around London. It was opened in 2000 by Anthea Hare, a paediatrician Nurse who was inspired by the love she had for her severely autistic brother, who she named the hospice after.
The Informatics team’s generosity and giving spirit reflects not only the values of Richard House, but the values of ELFT.
