The Bedfordshire and Luton Community Awards took place at Venue Central on Leagrave Road in Luton, on Thursday 9 November.
This is a significant achievement for the Luton and Bedfordshire Liaison and Diversion Team and its Reconnect Service. Reconnect is a service that reaches into prisons and works with clients prior to their release and supports and assists with linking into services on a person’s release. Chris was nominated by the Regional Support Contract Lead in recognition of his outstanding work with some difficult and complex situations to ensure the best care and support for vulnerable clients.
Gillian Stanway, Chris’ Interim Operational Lead said, “I am happy to say that this dedication and commitment is visible through Chris and his colleague’s day to day work with service users, fabulous work Chris!”
Chris has received an outpouring of support and congratulations from his colleagues, which is a reflection of his gracious and caring attitude. He is keen to express that this award is not for him, but for his whole team. Chris said, “I have accepted this award on behalf of my team, it’s our award, not mine!”
Chris is understandably very proud to work in his team, saying, “I was lucky enough to have been in the right position, at the right time, to catch the eye of caring people in senior positions, who then recognised my efforts, and which I see around me every day with my colleague's This is a superb team to work in if you're a caring person.”
