The ALE aims to support people with lived experience in their educational development through training, support and payment. It provides an excellent opportunity for service users and carers to develop, gain skills and confidence for future opportunities like employment and education.
This event was held in collaboration with ELFT Medical Education and the Playing ON Theatre Company and was attended by ELFT service users, carers and professionals.
Simulation is a technique for practice and learning, to replace and amplify real experiences with guided ones, often ‘immersive’ in nature, that evoke or replicate substantial aspects of the real world in a fully interactive fashion.
The simulation training included a tour of the Experiential Learning Centre, discussions surrounding tools, resources and support that could be included in the training package and a taster session.
This event allowed service users and carers to explore, co-create and engage in developing a bespoke Simulation Training package to enable service users, as lived experience experts, to fully participate and act in Simulations.

‘This is the start of a bright future for the ALE and it is great to coproduce a programme that seeks to enhance service user and staff learning and development.’
