On 25 May, 2020, George Floyd was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His death sparked a global movement against police brutality and systemic racism. In his memory, we commemorate this day as George Floyd’s Anniversary, a day to remember his life and the fight for racial justice that continues in his name.
The murder of George Floyd was not an isolated incident. It was another tragic example of systemic racism in society. The video footage of his killing shocked the world and ignited protests, marches, and calls for reform.
We would like to invite you to join us for a minute's silence, followed by some reflections of the shift in conversation with regards to Race & Racism since his death, and the work that still remains to be done in striving towards Anti-Racism.
