Celebrating International Women's Day 2024, Greenhouse held a Women's Health day on March 8th, welcoming 50 attendees.
This gathering, championed by ELFT Charity, City Hive, and SmokeFree City & Hackney, underscored the importance of female health awareness and was especially geared towards Greenhouse's female service users.
A rich day's agenda featuring healthcare services, cancer screenings, and a communal lunch underscored Greenhouse's dedication to women's health.
In addition to medical support, essentials like clothing, shoes, sanitary products, and non-perishable food items were provided to all female patients, addressing their holistic needs.
Highlighting the day were two critical workshops on breast cancer awareness and bowel cancer prevention, offering participants valuable knowledge about self-examination and symptom recognition, crucial for early detection.
Ruth Thacker, Practice Manager at Greenhouse, reflected on the day's impact: "With the help of our partners, generous donations from the public and the amazing Greenhouse team, we held a successful event to educate the importance of female cancer screening to our amazing service users."
Greenhouse's ethos of inclusivity was evident, supporting patients who often face social isolation and lack basic necessities.
More than a celebration of International Women's Day, the day at Greenhouse symbolised a beacon of hope and support, providing women in the community with access to vital health services and resources.
Greenhouse's unwavering commitment to women's health and well-being stands as a shining example of community-driven healthcare.
