In an initiative coinciding with International Women's Day 2024, Greenhouse Practice in Hackney is reaching out to the community for support.
The practice is appealing for donations to aid women experiencing homelessness or living in temporary accommodation, including those who are sofa surfing.
Community members and organisations are encouraged to contribute by dropping off donations at the practice or contacting 020 8510 4490 for further details.
The drive, focused on gathering toiletries, sanitary products, and clothing supplies for women, aims to support visitors at the Greenhouse Women's Health Day event scheduled for March 8, 2024 at 19 Tudor Road, Hackney from 1-3 pm.
This event is envisioned as a comprehensive health and support hub for individuals living in hostels or supported accommodation, rough sleepers, and anyone heavily reliant on public spaces for shelter.
The Women's Health Day will offer more than just material aid. Attendees can access warm meals, long-life food supplies, free clothing supplies for women, complimentary haircuts, and a range of health and social care support services, including vaccinations and expert advice.
Ruth Thacker, Practice Manager at the Greenhouse Practice, shared her enthusiasm: “This International Women's Day, we aim to provide thoughtful gifts to the women we support. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our partners and the community for helping us make a tangible difference in people's lives. Your support empowers us to continue our mission.”
