BCHS Primary Care at Home managers have contacted Bedfordshire schools to introduce themselves and with an offer to take part in career fairs, talks and networking events.
Their first visit was to Bedford Academy on June 23.
BCHS colleagues who took part were Primary Care at Home Manager (Community Nursing) Sarah Denmead, Therapies Clinical Services Manager Amy Simpson and Practice Development Nurse (North Locality) Karen Rudge.
“We are engaging with students aged 13-16 to raise the profile and amazing opportunities within the NHS,” said Sarah Denmead.
“This is an opportunity to hopefully attract and develop our next generation of NHS staff.”
The NHS team discuss different routes into NHS roles, highlighting opportunities for students to consider after completing GCSE and sixth-form studies and also options following university.
