Rain came to the UK via international recruitment at the Trust, and initially trained as an Adult Nurse in the Philippines. During a career break and spell in Australia, Rain assisted with physical health checks for those working in the agriculture field.
After a while working in the agriculture sector, Rain decided to give nursing another chance by registering to join the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). This was before undertaking the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and a computer-based test (CBT) – passing both with flying colours.
Having successfully interviewed to join the Trust, Rain became one of the very first internationally recruited nurses in the UK to join the NMC as a registered nurse in the field of learning disabilities.
Having initially felt a little bit lost and disorientated in an unfamiliar country, Tower Hamlets CLDS helped Rain to fit in and thrive across the borough.
Talking about the journey so far, Rain told us: “I have grown to love the UK more and more since I moved here. I really want to continue growing on a personal and professional level, which will enable me to feel even more satisfied with my decision to join as an international recruit.”
