World Mental Health Day sees the launch of a short film by London Ambulance Service, which explains how they work in partnership with NHS trusts to ensure that people in London get the mental health crisis care they need.
LAS has been providing mental health joint response for the last four years which allows a paramedic and a mental health nurse to perform evaluations of mental and physical health at the same time.
ELFT's Crisis Pathway Service Manager Melanie King features in the film, describing how the joint approach allows for the utilisation of the most effective way to support people if they experience a mental health crisis.
On her role in participating in the film, Melanie said:
"It was a pleasure to support LAS in helping to make the film. I'm delighted to help more people understand the way partnership working can help ensure that people get the right help at the right time when they need it.
"London trusts alongside ELFT that are part of the collaborative approach meet regularly to ensure there is constant learning about our approach."
