Rebecca has committed to a #12in12 challenge and is encouraging other nurses to consider fundraising for the same cause.
She is aiming to raise up to £3,500 for Support Nurses, which helps nurses in emotional or financial need.
Rebecca is Community Children's Nurse Project Lead for the Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) and Matron for ELFT's Specialist Children and Young People's Service (SCYPS). Her #12in12 challenge involves completing 12 fundraising activities in 12 months.
Rebecca has pledged to complete alternative challenges each month for 2025 and to encourage colleagues, Community Children's Nurses, and Queen's Nurses across the UK, to join in with her or hold their own fundraisers.
She will be starting the challenge with the London Winter Walk, and will later do 100 squats a day for 31 days, the London Landmarks Half Marathon with ELFT Charity, the Hackney Half Marathon, yoga in the National Garden, a Serpentine Swim, and much more.
Rebecca told the QNI: "This fundraising challenge is about raising essential money and awareness for Support for Nurses, so we can continue to emotionally and financially support nurses that reach out to us.
"Together we can continue to support our amazing community nursing workforce to keep going, stay well and improve the lives of our community across the lifespan."
Rebecca recently received a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the 2025 New Year's Honours list for exceptional service to her community, following work across children's services in Newham since 2006 and leading as SCYPS' Matron since 2016.
