Rajia Khan is the new ELFT-wide Volunteer Coordinator and Makeda Crawlle-Wright is the new People Participation Lead for Bedford Borough (Adults).
Rajia, born and raised in Bethnal Green, will be supporting the Trust with its volunteer strategy and implementation.
“I’m very new to PP but already have seen the wonderful work that PP colleagues are involved in,” she said.
“Putting services users first and at the forefront of everything the Trust does is innovative and truly life changing for our service users.”
Rajia also has lived experience in supporting family members with their mental health journeys.

Makeda has worked for the Trust in Bedfordshire and Luton since 2018, with roles for Services for People with a Learning Disability (SPLD) and at Charter House.
In her new role Makeda will be supporting service users and carers have a say in how we provide services in Bedford Borough and connecting them with colleagues to continuously consider new ways offer a better service for all.
Makeda has described her new role as an ‘absolute privilege’ and had a simple message for service users and carers:
“Feel free to ask me any questions or to introduce yourselves to me or to simply exchange a warm smile. I would like that very much.”
