ELFT is to have a new Chief Finance Officer (CFO) in Kevin Curnow who'll be joining us from the Whittington Health NHS Trust.
Kevin has been Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Finance Officer for the Whittington since August 2019 and joined the Trust in May 2018 as the Operational Director of Finance.
Previously he held senior finance roles at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, Peninsula Community Health and the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.
Kevin professionally trained in the South West and worked in industry and commerce for 10 years before he began his NHS career in 2008.
He is a supporter of Quality Improvement initiatives to drive financial improvement and promotes system collaboration to maximise patient outcomes and experience.
Kevin also has a passion for staff development and encourages his teams to maximise the potential of learning opportunities.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his two young daughters and when not entertaining them he is a keen sportsman. However, Kevin said he spends more time cheering from the side-lines these days mainly watching rugby rather than playing.
Kevin added: 'I'm delighted to have been appointed to the role and I am excited to be joining such a successful organisation providing outstanding care for its service users with an excellent reputation for staff development.'
Kevin joins ELFT on July 31 and replaces Samanthi Gibbens who has been Interim Chief Finance Officer since May 2022. Sam will be joining Barnet, Enfield and Haringey MHT NHS Trust and Camden & Islington NHS FT as Chief Financial Officer.
ELFT Chief Executive Paul Calaminus said: ‘We’re really delighted Kevin is joining us. He’ll bring a great deal to the Trust at a time when the NHS as a whole faces growing financial challenges. Kevin’s approach using QI and system collaboration is very much in the ethos of ELFT.
‘I’m also really delighted for Sam and want to thank her for all her hard work as our interim. We will very much miss her and we all wish her every success in her new role.’
