The Pan-London Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) Programme Celebration Event took place in central London on 17 January.
It brought together all newly qualified ELFT social workers who have passed their ASYE and was the first event of its kind within the Trust.
Taking part and very central to the celebrations were four Social Work Apprentices who recently graduated from the University of Bedfordshire, achieving a BSc in Social Work.
In attendance to congratulate the newly qualified colleagues were ELFT Deputy Chief Executive Richard Fradgely, ELFT Director of Social Work Mary Brazier and Chief Operating Officer Edwin Ndlovu.
One newly qualified colleague who took part was Custon Magaya. About his experience at ELFT he said:
"Doing my ASYE with ELFT was a worthwhile option. I gained immense knowledge , skills and experience.
"Switching to ELFT CMHT was the best decision I made .
"I have gained vast knowledge and experience through inter-professional and multi-agency working.
"My team and other professionals have been very supportive and the advice and knowledge I gained from doctors, psychologists, OTs, police, probation officers and so many other professionals has reshaped my career.
"I really enjoyed the training. I'm now empowered with the practical skills necessary on how to support service users and how to boost my resilience.
"ELFT CMHT allowed me to fuse my social work knowledge, interventions, and experience with psycho-medical interventions and develop myself into an all-round social-psycho-medically experienced practitioner.
"I am confident that with the vision and experience of Katie and her team, the ELFT ASYE programme will go from strength to strength and become the best mental health ASYE programme in the country."
ELFT Learning & Development Project Lead for Social Work, Katie Lander said:
"The NQSWs portfolios have all been of a very high calibre and the standard of supervision which they have received from their ASYE assessors has been excellent. I would like to thank all of the teams, supervisors, and mentors who have supported both NQSWs and Social Work Apprentices."
ELFT's Director of Social Work, Mary Brazier said:
"Well done to all of the Social Workers who passed their ASYE and to all of the Social Work apprentices who have now qualified as Social Workers.
"All of you have had to meet the highest of professional standards to come this far, and I have no doubt that you will all now go on to apply your knowledge in a way that will make a real difference to people's lives."
