The ELFT Primary Care Directorate has made a strong start to 2024 with two significant away days. These events were key opportunities for reflecting on past achievements and planning strategic objectives for the year ahead.
Bedfordshire and Luton Teams Reflect and Plan for Future
On January 19, leadership teams from the Trust’s Bedfordshire and Luton practices held their annual planning away day at The Rufus Centre in Flitwick. Colleagues from Cauldwell Medical Centre, Leighton Road Surgery, and Kingsway and Bramingham Medical Centre were in attendance. The practices, which provide care to more than 50,000 patients, were joined by Dr. Mohit Venkataram, Director of Commercial Development, Emily Van De Pol, Interim Director of Primary Care, and Irfaan Ibne, Assistant Director of Primary Care.
Dr. Venkataram led the session, focusing on the primary care teams' progress and achievements. “This year has been one of substantial growth and accomplishment. Our objective for the coming year is to enhance our patient-centered approach, ensuring compassionate and accessible care,” reflected Dr. Venkataram.
London Practices Gather for a Collaborative Session
Following this, on January 24, leadership teams from the Trust’s London practices convened at Toynbee Hall in East London for their annual planning away day. This event brought together colleagues from Greenhouse Practice, Health E1, Newham Transitional Practice, and the outreach service.
Carlos Santos, Improvement Advisor at the Trust, led a QI exercise focusing on setting goals for 2024, with an emphasis on patient-centered, compassionate, and accessible care. The session resulted in a driver diagram to facilitate idea generation and goal-setting for the year.
A Unified Commitment to Excellence in Primary Care
These away days underscore ELFT's dedication to continuous improvement and setting high standards in primary care. They provided a platform for leaders to share insights, align their vision, and collaboratively set objectives, ensuring the delivery of top-tier care to patients.
The ELFT Primary Care Directorate includes Leighton Road Surgery, Cauldwell Medical Centre, Kingsway and Bramingham Medical Centre, Newham Transitional Practice, Health E1, and Greenhouse Practice.
