Trained community coaches from Premier League team West Ham United are running sessions every Monday from 1-3pm at Stepney astroturf, E1 3NG.
They are working in partnership with ELFT and the Tower Hamlets Council sports team.
The NHS initiative is fun, inclusive and also offers the opportunity for participants to train in level one coaching.
“This is such a positive partnership programme with the health and wellbeing of the community at its heart,” said Marica Wainner, the Trust’s Health Development Lead.
“Playing football is a fantastic way to form social connections and stay healthy whatever your age or ability.”
She added: “You will leave the sessions with a smile on your face and a spring in your step.”
The Social Football Mental Health programme is funded by the ELFT Charity and started on Monday, January 30, 2023.
