Dr Amar Shah will join Anna Burhouse, Director of Quality Development for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and Annie Laverty, Executive Director of People for North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System, as panellists for the webinar on Monday, August 1.
The online event will explore the role improvement skill and resource is playing in meeting the challenges faced by organisations in responding to and recovering from the pandemic; what is working well, what isn’t and why.
“I am delighted to have been invited to participate and look forward to sharing how ELFT has applied quality improvement throughout our response to the pandemic, and in the challenges that we face currently,” said Amar.
“There is a real opportunity to hold on to the rapid pace of change, the increased autonomy at the point of care and the reduced bureaucracy in supporting us to navigate the big challenges that we face at the moment with waiting lists and increased demand.”
He added: “Quality improvement offers teams a way to make sense of this challenge in a manageable way, to work together with patients and service users to develop and test creative ideas, and to apply a systematic and scientific approach to this.”
The webinar is from 12-1.15pm and free for all NHS Providers members. Bookings can be made via the NHS Providers website.
It follows another NHS Providers ‘Trust-wide Improvement: A Deep Dive’ webinar on July 20 which featured ELFT Board members, including Dr Shah, discuss the value of Quality Improvement (QI) to the Trust.
