On 29 November 2024, Health E1, part of East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT), delivered a highly impactful Winter Homeless Fair, demonstrating its commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
The event, which welcomed over 170 visitors, offered vital services and resources to those experiencing homelessness, while fostering a sense of community and care.
The fair provided essential items such as warm clothing, long-life food supplies, toiletries, and sanitary products, alongside health checks and access to key support services.
The practice partnered with Tower Hamlets Council, Groundswell, Friendly Faces in Lonely Places, The Hygiene Bank, Bromley by Bow Centre, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), City and Hive, St Mungo's, Providence Row, and Good Things Foundation to offer comprehensive support to attendees.
Visitors also enjoyed hot meals and drinks, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.
“We want to thank all our partner organisations for their incredible work in helping us support those most in need,” said Mohammed Almahfuz, Practice Manager at Health E1.
ELFT staff played a significant role by contributing donations.
Health E1 supports people in Tower Hamlets experiencing homelessness, including those in temporary accommodation or struggling to register with a GP, as part of its mission to provide accessible and equitable healthcare to the local community.
