Trans Awareness Week provides an opportunity to foster an understanding of the lives of transgender and gender-non conforming people. It raises visibility of the challenges that the transgender community face on a daily basis, including discrimination, violence and lack of access to healthcare.
Trans Day of Remembrance takes place on 20 November. It is a day to honour the lives that have been lost to anti-trans violence.
Trans Awareness Week is a key time to advocate for a greater acceptance and support for transgender individuals, whilst remembering those who have paved the way for Trans recognition.
