ELFT’s Peer Support Training Lead, Lenna Adley, has been shortlisted for ‘Patient Contributor of the Year’. This was for her work with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and supporting staff in applying quality improvement.
Lenna has been a service user at the Trust since 2018, has worked with the People Participation team since 2019 and Quality Improvement since 2020. These experiences have enabled her to co-deliver the ‘Introduction to Quality Improvement for Service Users’ training programme and lead a corporate project to improve staff experiences for new starters at ELFT.
This is in addition to another ELFT nomination, for the East London Community Eating Disorders Service for Children and Young People. The team has been shortlisted for ‘Psychiatric Team of the Year: Quality Improvement’ for work in reducing waiting times for assessment and treatment.
Finally, the Tower Hamlets Intellectual Disability Psychiatry team has also been shortlisted in the ‘Psychiatry Team of the Year: Intellectual Disability’ category. The team received its nomination for its dedication to challenging health inequalities, as well as its ‘Shape Up’ project to support with weight loss in adults with intellectual disabilities.
The RCPsych Awards promote outstanding achievements in psychiatry, as well as that of medical students and foundation doctors. This is based on work undertaken in the previous calendar year from Royal College of Psychiatrists’ subscribing members or associates of good standing.
The winners will be announced on Wednesday, 8th November via a livestream from 14:00-16:30. You can visit the RCPsych Awards 2023 – Live Stream Registration page to receive the joining link and watch the ceremony.
