ELFT's Greenhouse Practice in Hackney and Cauldwell Medical Centre in Bedford have been named finalists in the prestigious Primary Care Impact Awards 2023.
This nomination celebrates the innovative and impactful work being done in primary care, highlighting both practices' commitment to improving access to healthcare for vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations.
Both practices have been pioneering in their approach to healthcare delivery.
By converting refurbished London buses into mobile healthcare units, the Greenhouse has significantly improved access to care, especially for rough sleepers and asylum seekers, providing essential outreach services. The practice has been named finalist under the category of 'Practice of the Year'.
On the other hand, Cauldwell Medical Centre has elevated cervical screening uptake in vulnerable groups through a Quality Improvement initiative, with a project that surpassed its target with 80% uptake in the 50–64 age bracket and reached 72% for those aged 25–49. The practice has been recognised under the category of 'Excellence in Patient Communication'.
Dr. Mohit Venkataram, ELFT Executive Director of Primary Care, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to see both the Greenhouse Practice and Cauldwell Medical Centre recognised as finalists in the Primary Care Impact Awards. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams. Their innovative approach to healthcare delivery has made a significant difference in our communities. Congratulations to everyone – this recognition is so well deserved!”
The virtual awards ceremony will take place on the Integrated Health website on 14 December 2023.
