People that have held military jobs, worked in the armed forces or are coming to the end of their contracts are warmly invited to meet with ELFT staff on
Tuesday 10 May 2022
13.00-15.00
The Trust is offering afternoon tea, cake and conversation at the Newham Centre for Mental Health.
This will be an opportunity to consider their next steps and the transferable skills they have which they could bring to roles in the Trust.
The Trust would value their input in shaping mental health services to better meet the needs of ex armed forces staff when they leave the forces. Ex forces staff and veterans often don't fare very well outside of the structure of the army, navy and marines, and air force. Many struggle to cope with their experiences. This can impact on family life. The Trust wants to support veterans, look at opportunities for them and their families to join the NHS workforace and enhance what the NHS can offer to support veterans.
ELFT is a Veterans Aware organisation, one of 104 NHS providers helping to drive improvements in NHS care for people who serve or have served in the UK armed forces and their families.
