The event was held on 28 November at The Rufus Centre in Flitwick and had over 100 attendees. The day was available for all nursing home, residential home, community carers and nurses to attend as well as community nursing teams.
Tissue Viability nurses Ruth Mullins, Kya Fidler, and Stephanie Mills hosted the day with support from Quality Improvement nurses from BLMK and Patient Safety nurses from the ICB.
There were stalls from dietitians, the podiatry team, wheelchair services, medicines management and the digital team. Medequip also provided some equipment for the day.
The day also included presentations from the spinal cord association and the Tissue Viability Service on Safeguarding/Pressure Ulcer.
Ruth Mullins added: "We received excellent feedback from attendees on the day!"
First stop dressing boxes, which include Tissue Viability Nurses pathways, were distributed to nursing homes by Solventum, who worked to put the boxes together.
