My working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Muryum Khan (Team Lead)
Hello all! I am the interim team lead for the Specialist School Nursing Team in Newham! I am in post from September 2023-September 2024.
I am a paediatric Nurse with an Independent Prescribing qualification and recently completed my post graduate diploma as a Specialist Practitioner Community Nurse. My background is in Neonatal nursing, children's palliative care and Community children's nursing. I have a wide skills set including chemotherapy administration in the community and venepuncture blood sampling.
I have experience looking after complex caseloads and children with profound and multiple learning disabilities. I work across the schools in Newham supporting my team to look after children with various health needs ensuring they are encouraged to thrive in the school setting.
My working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Joanne Swift (Junior Sister)
I have worked for the NHS since 2005 I have also worked for different nursing agency’s throughout this time which allowed me to work across the UK. My expertise is in children and young people with complex medical needs and who are dependent on technology, children and young people who require long term ventilation (both invasive and non-invasive), tracheostomy care (both cuffed and uncuffed), cough assist suction oxygen therapy, enteral feeding medication, and perineal dialysis.
I have worked all around the north west of England, working closely with Manchester children’s hospital and Alder hey children hospital. I have also worked at the Noble’s Hospital on the Isle of Man, Swanbourne gardens respite centre for children with complex needs, Chailey heritage residential home and school for children with complex needs, and I have supported children in their own homes in wales.
I have also carried out training with carer parent’s school siblings and I have a real passion for training staff, families, carers, and school staff.
My working hours are Monday to Thursday 8am-4pm.
Lorna Russell (Junior Sister)
I have been working with the Specialist School Nursing Team since September 2023. I have a background in Intensive Care Nursing and Health Visiting. I enjoy bike riding and swimming.
My working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Augustina (Tina) Kwao (Junior Sister)
I am a qualified Paediatric Nurse, who is efficient, thorough and passionate about delivering the best level of care, with over eighteen years’ experience of in providing nursing care for children, and young people with their families. I am a professional dedicated to providing and improving standards of care through evaluation of practice, evidence-based nursing, and lifelong learning. I have a strong interest in developing healthcare, and work as part of a friendly team.
I have worked for sixteen years with Barts Health Trust on the acute ward. (Rainbow Centre for Children and Young People) as a Junior Sister, at Basildon Hospital as a Bank staff nurse and currently work within the Specialist School Nursing team (SSNT) within East London Foundation Trust (ELFT).
Since joining the SSNT in August 2023, I have worked with children and young people (CYP) in the community and school setting. I independently manage a caseload of CYP with complex medical conditions, special educational needs and disability who have a variety of nursing needs such as long-term ventilation, oxygen therapy, urinary catheterisation, enteral feeding, and tracheostomy care, and am excited to work within the Specialist Nursing team to provide a first-class practice within Newham.
My working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Sarah Mcleod (Nursing Associate)
Hello all! I am a Nurse Associate working for the specialist school nursing team. I have been working with the team since January 2022 and have worked for the NHS for almost 10 years.
I have a wide range of background experience. I started my career by working in a specialist school where I worked for 8 years working with children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Thereafter, I worked on a mental health ward for 6 years and it was here where I studied at City University to become a qualified Nurse Associate. Once qualifying as a Nurse Associate I took up a post working with the specialist school nursing team.
My working hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8.30am-4.30pm.
L'Oreal (Nursing Associate)
I am a Nursing Associate. I qualified in 2022 and started working for ELFT January 2023. I work across both the specialist school nursing team and the children's community nursing team.
My working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Shujata Begum (Administration Assistant)
I am the administration assistant for the Specialist School Nursing Team. I have worked within the NHS since 2018, in several various locations.
My working hours are Monday to Wednesday 9am-5pm.
Lizzie Sibanda (Agency Junior Sister)
I am an agency nurse with experience of working across the various SCYPS nursing services.
My working hours are on demand as required by service needs.
