Most people can receive treatment and care as an outpatient. When an admission is required, this is arranged via the assessing mental health team.

The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In the provision of care, we work for the active involvement of the patient, family, and carers. We believe in ensuring people on the ward have choice and autonomy, where possible.
To support people we provide intensive assessment, intervention, and support. Recovery planning is devised with patient-focused outcomes.
We strive to achieve a sensitive approach to ethnic and cultural issues. We believe that shared learning from a crisis is important.
We apply time-limited treatments that are responsive to patients’ needs. We seek to provide practical support and assistance with the challenges of daily living.
The ward has a multi-disciplinary team including mental health nurses, clinical support workers, clinical psychologists, a consultant psychiatrist and medical staff. They work in partnership with the outpatients team, care co-ordinators, social workers and GPs to support the patient through their inpatient stay.
