The Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards 2024 took place on Thursday, 31 October, at the Honourable Artillery Company’s Long Room in the City of London.
This prestigious event honoured 24 London-based organisations, including ELFT, for their outstanding commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.
Doris Mc Meel and Jane Kelly were present to proudly collect the award on behalf of the Trust.
With this award, ELFT joins an exclusive group of just over 1,000 organisations nationally, including around 100 in Greater London, that have achieved Gold status.
The ceremony featured Sir Ken Olisa OBE, the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, as keynote speaker, alongside representatives from the tri-services: AVM Ranald Munro CB CBE TD VR DL, Captain Paul Hill RD RNR, and Lieutenant Colonel Darren Johnston.
Jane Kelly, who leads the Armed Forces work, said: “This award is recognition for the incredible commitment and contribution of veterans and their families in helping the NHS provide the right care and employment opportunities for Armed Forces veterans."
The Award recognises the Trust steadfast support for veterans through initiatives like the Armed Forces Covenant and Veteran Aware accreditation, reinforcing ELFT’s commitment to inclusivity and equity in care and employment for the Armed Forces community.
A unique feature of the ceremony was that each organisation was paired with a song reflecting their role. ELFT’s pick? “Doctor! Doctor!” by The Thompson Twins—a fitting and fun tribute to our healthcare mission!
