Tower Hamlets Community Health Services (CHS) Clinical Director, Dr Alex Harborne, has been shortlisted for Digital Innovator of the Year.
The nomination recognises Dr Harborne’s work in leading the digital quality improvement (QI) project, ‘Improving communication between ELFT Community Health Services and GP teams in Tower Hamlets’ from May 2022 to July 2024.
A team of staff and patients assisted Dr Harborne, who worked closely with GPs and system partners to co-create a new website, electronic referral and podcast series for GPs. The digital improvements led to increased website views, improved referrals and co-development of a new process to learn together with primary care from patient safety events.
In September 2024, a ‘Cluster Review’ of insulin incidents took place with system partners with key recommendations for improvement.
All nominees for the HSJ Digital Awards, and their representative, will sit in front of a presentation panel for the next stage, before preceding to a judging day.
The awards will take place at The ICC in Birmingham on Thursday 26 June 2025.
Dr Harborne said: “I’m elated to be shortlisted for an HSJ Digital Award for my project work over the last two years.
“Thank you to all my colleagues across Tower Hamlets and NHS North East London who have been part of our innovative digital quality improvement and patient safety work.”
